Still Workin' on the ol' Portfolio

and I've kinda gone into hyper drive about it, so I have tones of semi-finished things that aren't post worthy yet. I'm trying to pump out tons of unfinished work so I can narrow things down to the what I want to complete and finally stick in my portfolio..which is due in four weeks. At any rate, to keep my blog from dying heres an extremely quick sketch of "What I Wore Today", inspired by Tiffany Ford and Sophie D. Better stuff next time, I hope! thanks for lookng!

BollyWood!

Here's a quick color key for a final painting to be completed a little later, although this has worn on me enough as to where this very well might be the final painting. We'll see. If you feel so inclined to add a theme to this image I highly recommend this

Pot Head

Here's another girl with food on her head. I'll do one more to round everything out.  I've been listening to tons of old Bollywood music like Ganga Ki Saugandh to help keep me authentically inspired. Also, I just really like it.

Basket Girl

Gonna Try to have the India Series finished by the end of the upcoming weekend. Wish me luck!

Not Really Happy With This

But I thought I'd post it anyway. It's supposed to be something akin to a color key. I guess I do like the colors but the composition leaves much to be desired. I wanted it to look something like a heart buuut. I dunno.ha, I'm just not buying it but I figure it should see the light of day considering how much time I spent on it. ...better stuff next post.

Starting a Series Of Circus Freaks!

And I've started with the Bearded Lady. I have tons of exploratory sketches for her and all other types of carnies like the Strong man and The Fiji mermaid, so I chose one and dropped some color on it. It's nothing too slick but it's nice to see how things might progress after adding color. I wont be updating as often for a while--I'm starting to buckle down so I can get my portfolio in order. Expect tons of circus freaks and general updating in the future though!
 Thanks and see ya soon.

Indian Princess

So I decided to go with the yellow/gold color pallet for this one. The color choice may not "pop" as well as a few of the other options but I felt it was a little more original. I also chose to go with birds instead of the monkey so the silhouette would read a bit more clearly. The painting isn't taken to a stage of completion yet, I'll get to that soon enough--I've been pretty busy lately. I think I'll add a few more finished pieces, some sketches and a few environment/props to the "India" series before I move on to a different theme. More post soon!

Decisions, Decisions...

Back to the "India" series. I've got the sketch for the "Princess" all ready to go but I'm a little torn when it comes to color. I'm a little drawn to the yellow to be honest. What do you think? Comment below!
